Which, in all honesty, is valid enough of a belief to hold. Joshua has been dead to the world since the night everything went up in flames. Clive had no reason to believe he was alive...not to mention the fact his brother was clearly in his rut making everything all the more complicated and worrisome.
He does not struggle against him (it won't get him anywhere - Clive is solid muscle and mail) but he does implore him to listen. To take a moment to relax and think. Founder...would he, could he even listen to him in such a state?
